Hello there!!

So a little bit about me! I'm Janette, a mother of three, married to my highschool sweetheart (and best friend!) I can easily say my camera is my 4th child! We call Tulare home and enjoy the small town life!

In my spare time, you might find me at Disneyland or Hobby Lobby! They are both equally magical! Just a few random facts, I love to shop (but who doesn't). Fridays are my "date nights" with Dateline. I love watching Fixer Upper and searching for antiques. Decorating... then staring at the walls of my home and redecorating. Planning photoshoots, Disney movie nights and planning birthday parties. Pinterest is my favorite! I like starting home renovations (then finding someone to finish the job...oops!). I like to pretend I'm a seamstress every now and then. I love to travel and I enjoy doing the most I can to make those around me happy.

My journey as a photographer unfolded when my daughters were about three months old. Being a first time mom I wanted to photograph every moment and holiday possible. I was surprised at how fast my girls were growing and how we suddenly forget the tiny details. Now that my girls are tweens and there's a little brother running around over here, it has only reminded me what little time we have and how quickly life changes. Just a matter of months make can such a difference in their childhood and I love going back to see their little faces in all the seasons of life!

As time passes, one thing remains true, you can never have enough photos.

I fell in love with the creative process and documenting life, and in 2008, Janette Smith Photography was created. While it wasn't on my agenda to be a full time photographer, it was right where I needed to be. Through photography I have made lifelong friendships and connections that I could have never imagined. Being able to bond with families and kids that I have been fortunate to photograph each year is the best part of my job. I love to learn about who they are and connect on a personal level to document the happiest moments in their lives. I feel so blessed to be able to do something that I absolutely love and have fun while doing so!

I strive to capture genuine moments to create timeless images. Themed sessions for little ones are also some of my favorite projects to work on and I love brainstorming with my clients on those.

Staying close to the roots of why this journey started, one of my favorite things is my holiday mini sessions. If you follow me on social media, you'll see notices when I'm booking for the next mini session. Valentines Day, Easter, 4th of July, Back to School (a holiday for some parents hehe), Halloween and Christmas are currently my regular holiday mini sessions. Creating these sets is definitely a fun part of my job and I always look forward to designing those and meeting adorable children!

Photos are a such a powerful gift we have to share with our loved ones. Thanks for visiting my website, I hope our paths cross and we'll have a chance to work together in the future!
